12/7 | Revelation 19:11-21 | The Return of the Messiah – The Second coming of Christ fulfills multiple OT & NT prophecies. It is not to be confused with the Rapture. (It could take two weeks to get through this passage and its many cross references)
12/14 | Revelation 20:1-10 | The Fact of the Millennium – Satan is bound, the thousand year of Christ takes place, Satan is released resulting rebellion and a final Armageddon before Satan is cast into the eternal lake of fire and brimstone. (This will probably take two weeks to reference back to the many OT passages describing the Millennium and explaining why the Pre-millennium position is the only one that is faithful to a grammatical-historical interpretation of the Scriptures – Old & New Testament. A two sermon series could be: 1) The Fact of the Millennium – a presentation of the Pre-mil position. 2) The Descriptions of the Millennium – OT & NT descriptions of what it will be like.
12/21 | TBD | CHRISTMAS SERMON
12/28 | Communion | Selected Scriptures
Revelation 20:4-6 Jeremiah 33:14-18 Ezekiel 39:25-48:35 Joel 3:18-21 Amos 9:11-15 Zephaniah 3:8-20 Zech. 14:4-11; 14, 16f |
Descriptions of the Millennium – OT & NT descriptions of what it will be like |
1/4/26 | Revelation 20:11-15 | The Great White Throne Judgment – The final judgment and condemnation of unbelieving sinful man to the lake of fire along with death & Hades. A defense of the doctrine of Hell.
1/11 | Revelation 21:1-8
Isaiah 65:17-66:2 |
The New Heaven & Earth – the present Earth and Heaven pass away. A new Heaven and Earth are created & Eternity begins. Who is there and who is not.
1/18 | Revelation 21:9-22:5 | The New Jerusalem – a description of this wonderful city where the saints will dwell for eternity. A difficult concept for us to understand because we live under the curse in which everything decays over time. The second law of thermodynamics will no longer apply in eternity.
1/25 | Communion | Revelation 22:6-16,20 | An Imminent Return – The angel attests the truth of the revelation and John his faithfulness in witness of it. Jesus states three times He is coming quickly. We are to be diligent to be ready. |
2/1 | Revelation 22:17-21 | Final Invitation & Warnings – The message of life is offered to all, but the warnings of rejecting it are serious. Our efforts to evangelize the lost and call believers to walk in holiness must also be serious.
2/8 | Romans 9-11 | The God who keeps His Promises – God will keeps all His promises including those made to the nation of Israel – All Israel will yet be saved – Rom. 11:26. Paul uses this as the means to give confidence God will keep His promises of salvation to Christians
